Clan 2019 Teachers

Grand Duke Sir Alucard Draconis from Pegasus Valley in Albuquerque, New Mexico and the Kingdom of Dragonspine is learning how to spin yarn and kind of learning how to knit. Find him if you want to learn about spinning while at Clan. He should have at least one if not two wheels available. He likes shooting people in battle games. He is teaching Viking Knit Weaving and Kumihimo Braiding.

Grand Duchess Dame Aurora Selene, current Queen of the Kingdom of Blackspire is Knight of the Serpent, Crown, and Flame. She resides within the Duchy of Obsidian Grove in Vancouver, WA, the northernmost park in the kingdom. She is quite proficient in a good number of crafts, but her favorites are sewing, spinning, crochet, and brewing beer and mead. This is her 25th year in Amtgard, and she is teaching Spinning and Machine Appliqué this year.

Bob/George resides in Crimson Basin in Alamogordo, NM, under the Kingdom of Burning lands. He owns a tailoring business as well as being the caretaker for the grounds where Clan is held. He studied Tudor England History and graduated from Canterbury Conservatory with honors. He is teaching the History and Construction of Cloth Beads.

Grand Duchess Emer Rustytongue has been a Knight of the Serpent since 2001. She lives in Las Cruces, the original Dragonspine. Her grandmother started teaching her to sew before she was in school. Emer has made kid clothes, stuffed animals, quilts, formal dresses, and then she found Amtgard and found her favorite genre of sewing. She also does fabric painting and making things that are no longer useful into gadgets or doodads, just for fun. Recently she has picked up woodworking, thanks to the local maker space, and she is working on picture frames first.

Sir Gwynn of Twilight Peak, Warrior of the Nine Blades, of the Kingdom of the Rising Winds will be your token Canadian for the weekend! She is a Garber Serpent Knight out of Toronto, Ontario who spends her time in Amtgard making things, judging tourneys and living on the ditch line. This Clan she will be offering two classes: Card or Tablet Weaving, and Shoemaking!

Lady Jade Skymaine of Eastwind Castle, current Queen of Winter's Edge is an unseelie fae who, naturally, causes mischief and shenanigans generally involving glitter. She means well, but finds it fun to count eye rolls and facepalms. Hobbies are her hobby and she does everything from hand embroidery to knitting, and foam crafting to baking. Any craft is an acceptable challenge. In conjunction with her partner in crime, Lavender Skymaine, she will be teaching the Wand Making and Flower Crowns.

Lavender Skymaine is from EastWind Castle in Trenton, SC, Kingdom of Winter's Edge and is currently the regent of her local park. She is a Faerie who enjoys spreading happiness across Amtgard. She is teaching the Flower Crowns and Wand Making classes.

Eliza Joy loves beading and beadwork and believes it was the “bling” of the Middle Ages. BEADING AND BEADWORK (It was the "BLING" of the middle ages!) I will be teaching about beads - how to tell real pearls and gem stones, creative storage ideas, Documentation on beading (in the middle ages which can carry over to the Amtgard world), where to find beads (so you don't break the bank buying all the pretties), how to embelish garments, how to let the garment talk to you, even time to pick a pouch, pick some beads and needle/thread and start your own obsession with buying, collecting, choosing and using the right beads! I will have enough for 20 people to "Make and Take" along to documentation. Come to my beading class as "BEADS ARE YOUR FRIEND!!!)
